Gus Lawton (David Kemker) is a struggling comedy writer. Despite the financial dead-end it's become, he clings to writing because it defines him and the legacy he hopes to leave behind. His wife Deborah (Shauna Black) wants peace and stability. Years of tumult and going without have driven her to the end of her patience with her lovable loser of a husband. When Gus pushes Deborah too far, he finds himself chasing her across the country to the abandoned farmhouse of her childhood. Given the choice between losing Deborah or living by her plan, Gus gets busy fixing up the old place, starting with the septic tank. Just when he reaches his limit, Gus digs up the one thing he needs, a zombie (David Sparrow) who will do anything he says... for now anyway.

In a pursuit of happiness that grows ever more reckless and bizarre, Gus and Deborah come together to get what they want regardless of the cost. When the zombie spoils their plan, Gus and Deborah must save themselves, if they can be saved at all.

In his directorial debut, David Kemker breaks the zombie mold to give us a dark comedy that speaks to the “living dead” - the hunger and the horror - in all of us. It's a wild ride that's both smartly comic and deeply quirky.
