Dynamite Swine
Directed by: Mark Poisella - 72 min. - USA film website Our story smashes head-on into the life of Dean “Rebel” Rebellio, a gambler whose golden-dice-earring-wearing pa taught him the card-playing ropes right outta the womb. Younger brother Evan can play the game, too – and read the tell off a frozen elephant! Alas, they've been on their own ever since their parents were killed by two (separate but eerily similar) speeding truck accidents... Enter Jenna, a gorgeous hairdressing angel, who straight outta beauty school started a hair salon for the homeless, where a hot bowl of soup and a new hairdo were always just a knock-knock away... but when back taxes threaten to shut her down, it’s Rebel’s job to save the day – by entering the Greater Hemet Open, a local card tourney whose winner takes home a cool $50,000. But while attempting to scratch together the entry fee, Rebel drops a $10K I.O.U. to a nasty Russian quadriplegic. Now, with the salon deadline less than 24 hours away and the Russian on their tail, the Rebellio brothers have to enlist the help of their good-natured (but hopelessly inept) friends to pull off a daring truck heist, a massive makeover and the biggest con job of their lives – but what about “the Wheel?” And the female Vietnamese butt-kicking duo? And has anyone seen Dushki’s pig? Sounds like Rebel’s got another long shot on his hands… which basically means: place your bets on a final, uproarious, wham, bam, pass-the-detergent finale! And yes, I’m talking about vomit. Lots of it. Sunday, August 29, 2010 Eyedrum 9:00 pm |
